YAY OR NAY WEDNESDAY

Jodipicoult2There are some Yay or Nay days when I want nothing more than an easy and harmonious life, so I'm asking a question I suspect I already know the answer to (although feel free to prove me wrong!)

My Sister's Keeper was a huge hit for Jodi Picoult, launching her popularity in the UK after it was picked for the first Richard and Judy Book Club.  It's had very, very few detractors (although if you're one, I'd love to hear why).  Tell us: is it a Yay or a Nay, and why?

[Don't forget to vote Yay or Nay at Bridalwave, Corrie Blog, Catwalk Queen, Kiss and Makeup, The Bag Lady, Shoewawa and Shiny Shiny, too!]

YAY OR NAY WEDNESDAY - Comments

  • Yay (but then you knew I&#39d say that right?) I couldn&#39t put this one down, the story completely captivated me. It really made me stop and think about some of the medico-ethical issues that the media bandy about with such ease.

I&#39d also recommend listening to the episode of her podcast whe she talks about it - pretty interesting.

    Yay.

It&#39s a wonderful story; very well-written and unlike all the other Jodi Picoult books I&#39ve read, I didn&#39t have to pause halfway through because I thought it was too harrowing.

  • Ha ha! Um .. I meant to say a big fat Yay! (I&#39m a poet.)

  • so... it&#39s a Nay then? ;D xx

  • Thought-provoking, gripping, moving, unputdownable.

I loved this book so much. I powered through it, not wanting to stop reading for even a minute. I read it on the way to work in the car (my husband was driving) and while I cried, he shouted, &#39Why are you reading it if it&#39s so upsetting?!&#39 then he dropped me at Starbucks and I finished it with my hand stuck in my mouth cos I was doing those big noisy embarrassing sobs.

I&#39m not sure about the other two Picoult books I&#39ve read, but this one is totally brilliant.
