The British Library, which has the world's greatest collection of books, is offering the chance to adopt a book for yourself, or as a present for a loved one. It's really more like sponsoring a book, as you don't actually get to take it home and read it, but you do get to help preserve our literary heritage. And you can choose which book to adopt!
