Karin Slaughter's knitting contest

Karinslaughter We've talked about Knit Lit on Trashionista before, but crime author Karin Slaughter's taken it to a whole new (and creepy) level.

Having commissioned patterns for a Ted Bundy Knit Hat and a Jeffrey Dahmer Boiled Wool Book Bag, she's running a competition on her website for the best versions of each. Great prizes, but I think it's in pretty poor taste.

What do you think?

That is in such poor taste. I would be greatly offended if my family member had been killed by these men and then someone was making a contest glorifying these killers.

  • I can see how she might find the *idea* of it funny, but it&#39s one of those things that you might laugh at before deciding it was too bad taste to continue, IMO.

  • That&#39s what I was thinking, Melanie. I know Dahmer and Bundy have sort of become cultural icons, but I do think people forget about the victims.

Oh... no, that&#39s too creepy. Also, I wonder how the families of the victims would feel if they could see these murderers being glorified (in a way)...
