No, it's not a chick lit novel, but Blair Underwood was in Sex and the City, which was based on a chick lit novel and so this news is relevant... Oh, who am I kidding? I just wanted to mention it because he's delicious. Knowing he can write just makes him even more swoon-worthy.
So the book: Casanegra: A Tennyson Hardwick Novel. It's apparently a "smart and sexy murder mystery" written with best-selling authors Tananarive Due and Steven Barnes” about a former gigolo and struggling actor who finds himself caught up in the mysterious, bizarre death of a rap star.
