BOOK COVER: The Almost Moon

Almostmoonus Since I'm kind of obsessed with book covers and book cover art, I thought I'd make it a regular item.

So each Thursday I'll post about either a particularly beautiful cover, an especially bad cover, book cover snap or (my primary fixation) US vs UK covers (nominations gratefully received!).

This week, Alice Sebold's The Almost Moon. The cover on the left is the US cover and I love it. Carry on over the cut for the UK cover.

AlmostmoonukI think this looks like a scientific non-fiction book rather than a novel (or a Sci-fi novel at a push).

It's striking, but I wouldn't cross the bookshop to pick it up, like I would with the American version.

What do you think?

The US cover wins hands down--the UK cover is dime-a-dozen. Can't wait to read this.

Also, I've been lurking here for ages, I love your blog :)

I just recently found this book, The Lovely Bones is one of my favorite books! The cover on the book I bout is purple with a window... After reading the book, the UK cover reminds me almost of how she described her mothers eyes! (I know it's not an eye but it's what I see when I look at the cover!)
