Is anyone watching Samantha Who?

Samwho I've seen the first two episodes and I really like it, mainly because Christina Applegate is so engaging.

I'm not a huge fan of Cecelia Ahern's novels, but I'm on board with the screenwriting (which I'm sure she'll be thrilled to hear!). She's good!

Is anyone watching Samantha Who? - Comments

  • Rene, I&#39ve read the Crane book and I still don&#39t agree. Retrograde amnesia features in loads of fiction. The different thing about Forget About It is that the amnesia isn&#39t real.

I&#39m loving this show! I adore Christina Applegate, and actually most of the cast of the show. I&#39ll have to look for the book mentioned above!

I googled after watching the 1st episode (meant to get to it for a while), because I couldn&#39t believe how much of the book was in this show. They don&#39t credit her at all on the site for the show.

Anyway, it MUST be Crane, and she doesn&#39t write this kind of comedy really well. If you like the show in the least, you&#39ll really like her book.

@Keris - if you read the book, you&#39d know that at least 60% of the premise of this show is EXTREMELY similar to the book. They&#39ve just merged the main character&#39s sister SAMANTHA into the main character. Both set in NYC w/retrograde amnesia involving a car accident.

  • Ooh you should, Tami - it&#39s great. :)

  • Blimey. You lot are strict!

Amy - please don&#39t burst my bubble. You should know by now I&#39m much happier in a world of my own. And, no, I know there&#39s no way of knowing how much of it she wrote, but I decided to give her the credit anyway. :)

Shanna - I did wonder if it could sustain a series, but maybe more mileage will come from the secondary characters. There&#39s certainly plenty more to do with the boyf.

Jessie - first of all, you can&#39t copyright an idea. Secondly, amnesia is a far from original idea (in fact, annoyingly for me, Samantha Who is very similar to my own YA novel, currently being rejected far and wide!) and thirdly - the original thing about Forget About It was the fakery, which Samantha Who hasn&#39t got! But I do agree that Christina Applegate is very Rachel-y, but then she did play her sister on Friends...

    Lori - hurray! I agree!

    Phew. :)
