And they're off! NaNoWriMo starts today!
How can it be November already? I'm not ready!
For those of you who don't know, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. During the month of November, thousands of demented individuals (and I can say that because, for the last three years, I've been one of them) undertake a challenge to write 50,000 words in just 30 days. It's not too late to start and you can find out all about it by clicking the link above.
Last year we had a NaNovember Extravaganza here at Trashi and while we won't be quite so NaNo focussed this year (mainly because I haven't been organised enough to sort anything out) we will be keeping you updated with how people are getting on. Carry on over the cut to find out how you can let us know all about your NaNo experience.
If you're taking part and you'd like to tell us all about it, either leave a comment or email us and we'll feature you here on Trashionista!
As for me, I'm doing a modified NaNo this year, i.e. I'm not following the rules. I don't want to start another book when I've got so many unfinished manuscripts, so I'm using this month and applying the NaNo rules to finishing an old book rather than starting a new one. Yes, I know that's cheating, but I'm only cheating myself (so that's okay, isn't it?).
Good luck, have fun and write fast!

I'm in! Just started writing this morning. I doubt I'll finish, just too many other projects, but it's fun to try. Good luck with yours!

Hi - I started yesterday, and the excuses are already coming thick and fast (tired after college, etc). I'm on NaNoWriMo under my writing name, HAHarvey. I hope everyone else is doing better than I am! Best of luck. Kerri

I'm in too seeing as I've taken a year out of uni. I always start things I never finish and it's really got to me (I've got like 6 books lying unfinished at the 18,000 word mark). I've got other projects but I'm going to try my hardest to at least get a basic skeleton of a novel down by the end of the month! It's a great get-ones-arse-into-gear opportunity.

I'm up to 13,261 words and still going strong. I'm really hoping to make it!!!!!

13,261?! Holy crap. I'm still at 5000 - I'm going by the word count guide in No Plot, No Problem so that I have to force myself to write the amount daily even if I'm tired!

I never claimed it was any good lol. My butt hurts and so does my wrist but I think it will be worth it in the end. This story has been on my mind since my first novel was excepted to be published. With all the edits I had to do I had no time to get it out so now it's just flowing lol. Today I'm up over 16,000. I'm sure at some point I'm going to get stuck somewhere. I figure there is plenty of time to polish it up when I finish it!
