Richard & Judy's 2008 Book Club

Being featured on Richard & Judy's book club is a guaranteed sales-boost for the author, and the ten lucky writers for 2008 have been announced.

The list includes the already-bestselling writer Khaled Hosseini with his (admittedly wonderful) A Thousand Splendid Suns and Master Pip by Lloyd Jones, which won the Commonwealth Writers' book of the year award.

Continue over the cut for the full list.

Blood River  by Tim Butcher
A Quiet Belief In Angels by RJ Ellory
Then We Came To The End by Joshua Ferris
Notes From An Exhibition by Patrick Gale
The Welsh Girl by Peter Ho Davies
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Mister Pip by Lloyd Jones
The Rose of Sebastopol by Katharine McMahon
Random Acts of Heroic Love by Danny Scheinmann
Visible World by Mark Slouka

The first instalment of 2008's Book Club will be shown on January 9.

Richard & Judy's 2008 Book Club - Comments

Hi, I too am a bit disappointed by this list - I thought the point of the list is to introuduce us to writers we might not have heard of. I absolutely loved A thousand Splendid Suns but think it just seems a bit of a cop out to include it on the list - Isn&#39t it doing well enough without R & J&#39s endorsement? Especially as the Kite Runner film comes out this week..Anyway enough rambling...I&#39ll still try to read them all and fail miserably with 50%. Happy New Year to all!

  • Is it just me or are their selections becoming less and less accessible? Apart from Joshua Ferris, this list makes me feel sleepy...
