Liza Palmer's original cover
Yesterday Sarah wrote about the US cover of Liza Palmer's Seeing Me Naked.
Liza emailed us to tell us about the book's original cover, which was deemed too rude by US stores. I love it.
What do you think?

Ok. That is just BRILLIANT! Too bad those stodgy Americans (I can say that because I'm American!)stores nixed it.

Well, I was sent a copy of this book to blurb, and if this had been the cover attached to it...I don't know if I would have read it, which would have been a shame, because I LOVED this book. When I saw this cover (with the whipped cream boobs) later, I cringed. I really, really don't feel it matches the book. I was so relieved when I saw the second cover of the woman pulling off the chef's whites. It is just so much more appropriate for what the book is about--a sexy woman finding romance and her place in the world...and the chef's whites cover is way sexier, too, I think. Plus, it's so much more adult.--Meg

Just right now did I get that they were chef's whites.
Just.Right.Now.
Awesome.

Liza, you didn't realise they were chef's whites on your own cover? How cool is that?!
I was just going to say Meg made a good point because the cover needs to catch your attention, but it also needs to reflect the content of the book, of course.
The original cover would certainly grab the attention, but I haven't yet read the book so I don't know about it reflecting the content. It's in my (huge) TBR pile, so I'll let you know!

I love the boob cover...
But again, not read the book (yet).
Hopefully it will be better for my waistline than "The Chocolate Lovers Club" which is making me feel obsessed with the dark stuff.

I'm not known for my powers of observation, apparently.
I hope you enjoy it!!!

Anyone who picks up this book will love it from page 1. And I'm married to a chef, so I used to see chef's whites a lot. When I saw the whipped cream cover, all I could think about was that scene in the movie "Varsity Blues," where the cheerleader comes at James Van der Beek wearing nothing but whipped cream. Which is a great movie, but so teen! And this book is so not teen (in a good way, i.e., there's lots of sex...but not involving whipped cream that I remember).

the boob cover disturbs me a bit, and i wouldn't want to read it in public in case of inappropriate comments lol!
i like the new one and i'll take your recommendation for the book, Meg :)

Note to self:
Seeing Me Naked sequel - must have sex with whipped cream.
Wait - that came out wrong.
Must have sex scenes utilizing whipped cream.
Wait...
Sigh.
