BOOK COVER (and title!): Joanne Harris

The Lollipop Shoes, Joanne Harris's long-awaited and much-anticipated sequel to the gorgeous Chocolat came out in the UK last year.

It's just been released in the US with a different cover (which is not unusual) and a different title: The Girl With No Shadow.

Since it's Friday, I thought we could have a vote on which we prefer.

UK title and cover for me. The UK cover in particular is beautiful - the US one looks old fashioned and dull, dull, dull.

Yeah, I really don&#39t understand why publishers feel the need to change the title of books for US vs UK audiences. We do speak the same language, aside from some slang and certain word usage. Those of us who would read a British book, pretty much already get the nuances of the language as it&#39s likely we&#39ve been reading British authors for years.

Different covers don&#39t bother me as much, but I really hate the whole "let&#39s change the title before we sell it to the Americans" movement.
