Freya North's top ten romps and romances

Freya North reveals an (unsurprising) love of romance novels and lists her top ten favourites for the Guardian.

I have to say I agree with her inclusion of Jane Eyre, Maggie O'Farrell's After You'd Gone (although I would be tempted to list The Distance Between Us instead) and Mary Wesley. I haven't read Moll Flanders or Tom Jones, though, have you?

I can&#39t believe she included Herb&#39n&#39Lorna - I love that book (all of Eric Kraft&#39s books, in fact), but I&#39ve never met anyone else who&#39s even heard of him!

I&#39ve just pulled it off the bookcase to re-read.

I&#39ve only read two of the books on her list, Jane Eyre of course, and I Capture the Castle, which I absolutely love. She&#39s right about the final words, but it also has one of the greatest first lines ever: "I write this sitting in the kitchen sink".
