TV News: Miss Marple

Miss_marpleMiss Marple was one of the first heroines I posted about on Helen's Heroines, so I was delighted to hear about the new series of whodunits that are currently being filmed. In recent years the part of Miss Marple has been played brilliantly by Geraldine McEwan, but after her recent retirement Julia McKenzie (pictured) will now play the meddlesome sleuth. Geraldine, however, still has Miss Marple films to be shown on ITV this year, Nemesis and Towards Zero.

Julia McKenzie's first Marple will be A Pocketful of Rye which will also star Helen Baxendale, Matthew MacFadyen, Wendy Richard, Prunella Scales and Ralf Little.

TV News: Miss Marple - Comments

  • It is fantastic and this is a good article that I saw, thanks for sharing!

  • My favorite Miss Marple will always be Helen Hayes. I just totally dated myself, didn&#39t I? But I look forward to seeing the new Miss Marple as well.

  • This is excellent news. I am glad to see that there will be a few more with the previous actress, but I am equally thrilled about Julia McKenzie taking over the role. Can&#39t wait.
