BOOK COVER: Forever
I'm currently reading (and loving) the essay collection, Everything I Needed to Know About Being A Girl I Learned From Judy Blume. I've realised that I don't think I ever actually read Forever in its entirety; I think I may have just read the dirty bits...
So I looked it up on Amazon to get myself a copy and spotted the lovely new cover on the left. I've tried to remember the cover I had, but I can't. I thought it was pale blue. My sister thought it had a rainbow on it. I can't find anything like that. But I did find another two gems, which you can see over the cut.
Do you remember the cover of your copy?

I didn't own a copy, but the one I checked out of the library was the one on the left. You had to have a note from your parents to check it out of the school library, but then I discovered that you could just check it out of the public library, no questions asked.
I think that cover was related to a TV movie based on the book that starred, if I recall correctly, Stephanie Zimbalist, who went on to star in Remington Steele.

Shanna, it was "under the counter" in our public library, i.e. they didn't shelve it, you had to ask for it!
The cover on the right is very familiar to me, Helen, but I don't think I read that particular book. I must have just read a lot of books in that series. I think the Paul Zindel books looked like this.

I hadn't even heard of Judy Blume until I started reading Trashionista. Is that bad?

I had (I think I might still have it somewhere!) the one on the right. I loved that book! I bought it without knowing anything about it because I'd loved all of her other stuff, and got SUCH a surprise when I read it...

The one on the right is the copy I borrowed from our school library. However, the copy I borrowed had 'YEAR EIGHT ONLY' in permanent marker along the three page ends - the younger three years at our middle school weren't allowed it.

I am shocked at this 'under the counter' business! Very Lady Chatterley. I read the one on the left from the library I think. Like Helen, I had a bit of a surprise too!
Good old Judy Blume...girls everywhere have a lot to thank her for!

It's not bad, Stella, but I am amazed. I don't know anyone who didn't read (or at least hear about) Forever at school!

The cover on the left is the one we still have in our public library. I couldn't believe I missed out on reading this book - but then saw that it was published in 1975 and, unfortunately, that's the year I started high school so I probably thought I had outgrown Judy Blume and just ignored it. Maybe I'll check it out now and see what I missed.

My cover was old-school - probably the first cover issued. It had a gold locket on it...and the words were in this dark brown (black?) 70's looking scroll.
What a great book. And Deenie, and Are You There God, and all the other wonderful books that I enjoyed in my pre-teen years!

I never owned a copy of this as it was my least favourite Blume book but none of those covers look familiar. That new one looks like it's copying all the chick-lit "leg" covers though!
