Chorion, the company who own the rights to the Enid Blyton characters, are planning twenty new books over the next two years. Not new versions of old Enid Blyton books but brand new stories. They plan to bring back The Famous Five, The Faraway Tree, The Wishing Chair, Malory Towers and The Secret Series. [via BBC]
Chorion has said they would remain true to Blyton's classic storytelling style and values. I hope they do. I think they're taking a big risk because I wasn't impressed with what they did to The Famous Five in the cartoon version (and I know I'm not the only one).
