It seems Eva Rice's latest book has been "coming soon" for ages now (it *has* been a couple of years), but it looks like it might finally be out this October. There's a cover on Amazon, at least.
Actually, what do you think of the cover? At first, I thought it was a bit insipid, but it's growing on me. It's a bit different (peach hasn't been overused, has it?) and atmospheric. No such concerns about the book, though, it sounds just as lovely as Rice's last book, The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets.
Set at the end of the 1950s and leading into the Swinging Sixties, The Dragonfly Summer is about Tara Jupp, a shy vicar's daughter from a small English village. Tara's beautiful voice is her passport to fame and riches. It means leaving her beloved, chaotic family and the small village where she grew up - but will it bring her what she wants?
