BRAND NEW BOOK NEWS: Rock Chicks

I read yesterday about Rock Chicks -  a "raw, shocking and downright sexy novel" - which is written by Ronni Cooper. Ronni Cooper is a pseudonym for "an established writer and author of a weekly newspaper column 'renowned for its biting humour and straight-talking opinions'".

It's the story of rock group The Black Spikes and three women who are closely involved with the band, "strong, sassy women who are not afraid to graft or to hold their own in a man's world, but who also love the adrenalin-pumping thrills of living on the edge in a decadent, sexy world".

The novel is apparently "inspired by a lifetime of experiences" and the author herself used to live with a successful musician.

So do you have any ideas who it might be? I think I've cracked it. See if you agree with me over the cut.

Janet Street-Porter.

Do you agree?

BRAND NEW BOOK NEWS: Rock Chicks - Comments

  • "the author herself used to live with a successful musician" - this surely - SURELY! - rules out Ann Widdecombe, LOL!

Can&#39t find anything (on Wikipedia) about Julie Burchill having lived with a musician (Janet Street-Porter was with that guy from Sigue Sigue Sputnik for years... although that&#39s stretching the term rather, I feel) and it doesn&#39t look like she has a column anymore either (although I did just read some interesting stuff about her getting fired from The Times, yet still being paid £300k - nice work if you can get it!).

Vanessa Feltz has got a column, but she&#39s still living with her musician.

Can you tell I&#39m convinced it&#39s Janet Street-Porter, LOL! I wonder if and when we&#39ll find out for sure...

  • Ooh yes, could be. I was thinking Julie Burchill. Then I wondered if it might be Vanessa Feltz. Or how about Ann Widdecombe...?
