Have you ever stolen a library book?

I just thought I'd ask since, apparently, library books worth £600,000 have gone missing in Wales over the last two years. [via booktrade.info]

Of course, the intention may not be to steal, it may just be that you have a library book that you haven't returned... I know I have. Years ago, we moved quite a distance and, when I unpacked at our new home, I found that my husband had packed a bag of books that should have been returned to the library. It was too far to take them back and, for a while, I kept them, but I felt guilty every time I looked at them and ended up donating them to the charity shop.

So is it just me or have you got some guilty library books hanging round your house too?

I can honestly say I&#39ve never stolen a library book. Not even on purpose. However I have been severely threatened for not bringing them back.. but eventually they get there.

I actually don&#39t have any "stolen" library books, but I do have one that I bought at a library sale when I were about 14 years old, and I thought it were great when I read it, but when I look at it now I truly understand why the library wanted to get rid of it. If I remember correctly it were about a mafia family and all sorts of conflicts like sex with sisters they didn&#39t know they had, murders etc etc. Truly trashy.

yes i have. we had a fire at my house a few years back and the library books i borrowed got damaged and well just didn&#39t tell the library. which is why i can&#39t go back to the library
