BOOK COVERS: Catriona McCloud

I've mentioned Catriona McCloud's disappointing covers before, but they were the covers of the hardback (or, more like, large format paperback). Look:

Growing Straight

Completely blah, right? Well, check out the small paperback covers over the cut.

Growing2 Straight2

Much better, yes? I mean, I don't adore them, but they're a great improvement on the originals, don't you think?

Sorry, I think they're all horrible and I wouldn't pick any of them up. I wonder how Catriona McCloud feels about them.

I actually prefer the originals....

Oh, I think the new ones are *much* better! I'd definitely ignore the original cover for Straight Up, it looks so cheap and nasty, and generic. x

Hmm, I think I also like the orginal covers better. Maybe because of all the blue.

I love the original cover of "Growing Up Again". It reminds me of myself as a teenager - staring down at my feet, trying desperately to think of something fascinating to say to him.

I think the new covers are a mess.

I have to say, I'm not wild about the new covers either, but I do think they're a vast improvement on the originals. They're just boring. And they look very 90s. And like the designers just couldn't be bothered to put any effort in. Apart from that, they're fine ;)
