YAY OR NAY: Book covers

atlanticshift.jpgBook blog Book Chick City recently posted a great entry on the topic of book covers. Which brought us to thinking here at Trashionista - how important are book covers to you?

Obviously the cover is one of the main points of selling a book. Possibly the most important. Personally, the cover is the main thing that attracts me towards a book (unless of course, it's a book I've been waiting for, in which case the jacket doesn't really matter!) In addition, I've read quite a few books with covers that don't represent at all what the book is about.

With many authors having their covers changed or designed to fit in with a series (Emily Barr, Alexandra Potter, Wendy Holden), I do wonder if anyone else shares the opinion. So let us know!

Is the cover important to you when choosing a book? What is your favourite cover? Are there any covers you've disliked? We'd like to hear your thoughts!

With me, it tends to be if a cover doesn't look "chick-litty" enough (ie pink, sparkly, both...) then it probably won't get my interest!

I loved the cover of Marian Keyes' latest with he lovely gold cover - so pretty!
