A bidding war for singer Cheryl Cole's autobiography has reached £5m, with publishers Random House, Penguin and HarperCollins all said to be in the running,According to the Daily Mail, it's been claimed by insiders that the competition has grown so fierce that the price could be the highest ever piad for a celebrity memoir. And it's been said that Cheryl could make even more money if she chooses to tell all about her role on the X Factor, and her recent split with cheating husband Ashley.

Jonathan Ross is believed to have received £1.5million from Bantam for his memoirs Why Do I Say These Things? However, since its publication in October 2008, the book has sold just 139,500 copies.
