CUTE COVERS: An Ideal Wife
The next instalment of Gemma Townley's Jessica Wild series, An Ideal Wife, has already been released in the States, and it's due for publication here in the UK in March 2011. And we've been checking out the covers!
Trashionista loved the first novel in the series, The Importance of Being Married, in which Jessica Wild hatches a mad plan to marry her boss in order to gain a hefty inheritance. The book was followed by A Wild Affair. An Ideal Wife is the third Jessica Wild tale penned by Gemma, who is the sister of Sophie Kinsella.
Check out the book covers - which do you prefer? The UK version (right) fits in with the current covers which we think are fab. The American version is a little more feminine but despite the difference, it still looks great!
If you haven't heard about An Ideal Wife yet, here's the synopsis:
Married to the man she loves - sweet, sexy Max - Jessica Wild-Wainwright is blissfully happy...except for one tiny little problem. She never confessed to an (almost) tryst with Max's biggest rival right before their wedding. Eaten up with guilt, and with looming threats of exposure, Jessica decides to give Max what he clearly still lacks: the Ideal Wife. With the help of her friends, she will become perfect in every way: doting, devoted, domestic-everything Max deserves. However, the path to perfection is fraught with peril, from culinary chaos to a boudoir disaster that puts Max in the hospital with a broken leg. As Jessica rallies to run Max's company - met with overt hostility by an obsessive co-worker and by an auditor determined to uncover everyone's secrets - things are decidedly less than ideal. Throw in a semi-retired Russian stripper and strange men watching her apartment, and Jessica fears Project Ideal Wife has backfired miserably. Can a less than perfect wife save the day?
