Chocolate brand Galaxy has signed up to provide £300,000 for the Quick Reads advertising campaign for World Book Day, The Bookseller revealed today.

World Book Day takes place on March 3, 2011, and will see ten titles specifically promoted to the event. Among the authors are Sheila O'Flanagan, Mike Gayle and Lucy Cavendish, and each of the books is set to receive a promotional boost. The article states:

The branding and strapline, 'Galaxy proudly supports ...'  will be included on the cover of every Quick Read and on all point of sale and outreach materials, including 250,000 posters, around 2,000 dumpbins and half a million bookmarks.

Gail Rebuck, chair of Quick Reads, said: "We are delighted that Galaxy is partnering with Quick Reads. The advertising campaign is a fantastic opportunity for thousands more people to discover Quick Reads and the joys of reading whilst also improving confidence, skills and self-esteem.
