Fine, fine. So it's not chick-lit related, we thought it just had to be mentioned. The Bad Sex Award, otherwise known as 'that award authors generally fear' may this year be handed to none other than former Prime Minister Tony Blair. (Yes, really).

It's normally reserved for novelists, but Tony's accounts of sex with Cherie in his controversial book A Journey granted him a place in the shortlist. And why? Well...*cringe*...

"That night she cradled me in her arms and soothed me; told me what I needed to be told; strengthened me."

"On that night of 12 May 1994, I needed that love Cherie gave me, selfishly. I devoured it to give me strength. I was an animal following my instinct..."

Interesting.

According to the Telegraph, Sir Andrew Motion, chairman of the Man Booker Prize judging panel, said: "I was very surprised. I thought it was going to be a panorama of sexual activity but it absolutely wasn't. The Bad Sex Prize has probably put a lot of people off."
