Alexandra Harris
has scooped the Guardian First Book Award 2010 with her book The Romantic
Moderns.
The book, published by Thames & Hudson, is about 20th-century English art. Alexandra was presented the award on Wednesday during the event at London's Victoria & Albert Museum.
According to The Bookseller, Guardian literary editor Claire Armitstead said: "At a time when universities are threatened as never before, Alexandra Harris' ground-breaking book is a reminder of how important higher education is to literature, and culture as a whole."
Alexandra's prize is £10,000 and an advertising package in the Guardian and the Observer.
