They will star alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Pierce Brosnan and Kelsey Grammer in the film, directed by Douglas McGrath.
The film is to be based on Allison's 2002 novel in which heroine Kate Reddy is forced to juggle life as a career woman and mum. The film begins shooting in January.
