TV favourites Richard and Judy are set to follow their hugely successful adult book club with one for children. According to The Bookseller, the Children's Book Club will involve real families and the books will be chosen by a variety of children.
Said Rachel Russell, business unit director for books at WH Smith: "The new Children's Book Club will use Richard and Judy in an interesting way, the books will be selected by children but the inspiration behind the club will be to help parents choose books for their children and find what is appropriate for their age and reading levels."
The book club will also be supported by Booktrust, and will have three categories: Reading Together (pre-school to year one), Developing Reader (7-9 years) and Fluent (8 years and over).
