HarperCollins has bought the rights for Tales of the Gypsy Dressmaker - the memoir of dressmaker Themla Madine from Channel 4's 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.' The book is due for release on 1st March 2012 and will document Thelma's life and career, having become a popular dressmakler among the travelling community.
Vicky McGeown, commissioning editor for Harper non-fiction, said: "For us, she was without a doubt the real standout star from the phenomenally successful 'Big Fat Gypsy Weddings'. From the moment I met her I was blown away by the wealth of amazing stories she has to share - she's truly going to bring to life a community that has fascinated the nation - and I'm excited to see the reaction when we publish next spring."
