Independent publisher Choc Lit has snapped up two debut romance novels, The Bookseller reported today.
Choc Lit purchased rights to the two books - Up Close by Henriette Gyland and The Road Back by Liz Harris - which will be published in late 2012. Up Close scooped the New Talent Award at this year's Festival of Romance.
Lyn Vernham, Choc Lit director, said: "The brand enables us to support debuts. Folks don't just buy one Choc Lit novel, they often read our entire list. There are some extremely talented authors who are getting overlooked because they have no agent. With our Tasting Panel reviewing manuscripts we are able to accept direct submission."
