We've already seen some of the Strictly novels for adults, and now the popular TV show will be making its way into the children's section.
Hodder Children's Books has announced that a range of Strictly Come Dancing titles for children, Booktrade reported. The books will be aimed at 7-9 year-olds and will 'embody and promote the values at the core of the brand.'
The first book in the series is set to be about eight-year-old Molly, who has never danced in public. With hard work and friendship, Molly wins a place at the Strictly Dance Academy. Each book will feature a young girl overcoming the odds to win a glamorous moment in the spotlight, and they're described as being 'just as fun, glamorous and uplifting as the TV show.'
Two Strictly titles are set for release in August 2012, followed by two in November 2012 and two in January 2013.
Hodder Publishing Director Anne McNeil agreed: 'This is a thrilling opportunity for us. Strictly Come Dancing is the benchmark of quality entertainment: for many families it's a way of life! The acquiring editor, Emma Layfield, quick-stepped out of her usual picture book role when she brought in this amazing acquisition - and I'm delighted that she did! We will publish it with all its glamour intact and bring strong characters and stories to this massive brand.'
